Glove Airflow Sling
Designed to be left under user in a chair
The latest sling designed to be left underneath a person in their seating provides another unique solution from Glove Slings.
Sometimes people get too warm whilst sitting on a sling in their chair. This can cause discomfort but much worse, it could increase the risk of tissue problems in the longer term. The problem is getting air to the skin. Whilst most slings are made with breathable fabrics, some seating systems and cushions in wheelchairs are not breathable. In a warm environment this may cause a person to overheat and sweat. The Glove Airflow Sling has been uniquely designed to help with this.
Even more supportive than the revolutionary and hugely popular Glove InChair Sling, the Glove Glove Airflow Sling adds a new dimension for comfort, literally! The innovative knitted fabric construction provides an open labyrinth for air to flow all around the person sat on the sling.
Glove Bathing Sling
Based on the highly acclaimed SAS Para the Bath Glove offers an excellent solution for transferring into the bath or swimming pool. Full body support is provided and a useful “pommel” is incorporated to reduce the risk of the user sliding through when wet and slippery.
The special soft, strong fabric provides significant tissue viability benefits over traditional “mesh”. It also enables water to drain through more readily and easily. It even dries faster!
Glove Convenience Plus Sling
A prototype of the Convenience Plus Glove Sling was reviewed by delegates at the DLF Moving and Handling Conference and was lauded as the most secure and supportive toileting sling they had ever seen. The Convenience Plus gives the superb access of the popular Convenience Sing with the added benefit of a high back rest, a neck support and a hug action to minimises the tendency for people to slide down into the aperture.
Keeping the arms inside the sling gives greater comfort and the hug action facilitates it without the loss of safety usually associated with the way of using a toileting sling.
The high backrest not only makes the Convenience Plus far more comfortable, it also means that you can safely lift from a supine position. you can not do that with normal toileting slings!
The padded leg supports in the deluxe style provide improved comfort and their slippery lining makes fitting easier.
The unique lumbar support from the Convenience Sling has also been incorporated in the Convenience Plus, this improved posture management in the sling and also makes the sling even more comfortable.
The neck rest is useful when someone needs head support, you can slip in a bolster roll to increase support even more if desired.
Glove Convenience Sling
Excellent access for toileting and for clothing adjustment providing vastly superior support and comfort compared to similar shaped slings. Innovative unique “anti-jack knife” design, considered by many to be in advance of it’s peers. Also features our unique “Flap Back” Velcro chest band that does not snag clothing.
This innovative sling can be used by many users previously considered unsuitable to transfer with Toileting/Access style of sling.
Glove Extensor Sling
For people who suffer extensor spasm using a sling is usually a nightmare! (and for their carers). When they extend the leg supports of their sling usuallyride up towards their groin. It also makes positioning them into a wheelchair more difficult than it needs to be.
The new Extensor Glove incorporates a unique “suspension” facility that counterpoises extensor spasm. It is also one of the most supportive slings available anywhere. Its unique design enables the sling to move with the spasm and return to its original position afterwards. Of course you don’t have to suffer spasm to enjoy the comfort provided by the Extensors “suspension”, it is suited to almost all types of disability.
Extensor also incorporates integral slide sheets for easier fitting and enhancedtissue viability properties. To complete the high level of support and comfort provided by this superb sling, Extensor has as adjustable HeadShell fitted as standard.
Glove SAS Para Sling
The SAS Para is designed specially where the user has to sit on a sling in a moulded chair. The fabric is soft, gossamer thin and strong (as used by Special Forces where performance!).
High air permeability helps to reduce sweating and associated risks plus the unique shape incorporating a “pommel” provides full support and security. Specially designed “Pocket Straps” enhance discretion and eliminates the risk of straps snagging in wheels.
Due to the lightweight fabric, the SAS Para has a maximum load of 65kg (10stone). Larger users will find that the InChair Glove is an ideal alternative.
